27 July
Event Draws and Alphabetical Time Draws have been updated with details for the final week (30 and 31 July). Round Robin events are not displayed in the Event Draws, only the Knock Out Events. Personal Time Draws will be mailed to players each week. If a draw is not received, phone the Tournament Office (preferably on Thursdays & Fridays between 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.).

26 July
It was too good to last. After perfect conditions for the first weekend, wet weather marred the second weekend (23-24 July) of the 2005 Rebound Ace University Open.

Steady rain on Friday night and Saturday morning resulted in the first 8 a.m. match on Saturday morning actually going on court at 11:15 a.m.

Despite the over three-hour delay on Saturday, all matches for the second weekend were completed and everything is now set for this weekend’s Finale.

Who will be the 2005 Queensland Open Singles Champions?

126 men and 32 women entered the quest for this year’s major State Titles. Now just 4 men (John James, Anthony Ross, Daniel Dossetor and Johnny Stamenovic) and 8 women (Kelli Zahmel, Bianca Smith, Shannon Golds, Julianne Welford, Lisa Orford, Maria Sorbello, Jessica Schaer and Kylie Hopkins) are left in the contest.

The Final of the Open Ladies’ Singles will be played at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday 31 July.

This will be followed by the Final of the Open Men’s Singles at around 11 a.m. Entry for spectators is free. Hopefully, the Brisbane Tennis community will turn out in force to support the State’s best players in their own State Championships.
