As 2003 draws to an end, it is timely to reflect on some of the positive outcomes for the Club during the year.
The UQ Men's and Women's Tennis Teams won Gold in the Northern University Games.
The UQ Men's Tennis Team won Gold in the Australian University Championships and the Women's Team won Bronze.
In Brisbane Fixtures, the Club fielded 92 teams and won 16 premierships in the 2003(1) Season; and fielded 78 teams and won 13 premierships in the 2003(2) Season [in the strongest competition, the BNTA Wednesday Night Fixtures, the Club won 7 grades, including the top 4 ( Pennant, PR1, PR2 & PR3)].
The Club conducted a Club Championships and three participation-style close tournaments.
The Club also conducted the Queensland Open Championships.
All things considered, 2003 was a pretty successful year on the court for the Club. I hope you all had a great year of Tennis and I look forward to seeing you playing for UQ again next year.
As this is the last newsletter for 2003, I would like to take the opportunity to wish all members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
